How long have you been teaching and how long have you been working with Chakra 5?
I am in my 10th year of teaching yoga and have worked with Chakra 5 for the last two.
What kind of meditation do you teach?
I teach Zazen Meditation, a form of seated meditation derived from Buddhism that trains you to calm and focus the mind. In the office, I guide students through focusing on the breath and sitting with eyes closed.
What do you like best about teaching yoga and meditation?
I love introducing people to yoga. I teach little kids through Grandparent ages every week. The relaxation and clarity and focus people find is amazing. Imagine if every office gave their employees yoga! The world would change and that is what we are doing, little by little. Changing lives.
How do you see meditation helping your clients from Chakra 5?
Meditation and yoga both give people the opportunity to be calm under pressure and to not be reactive… to focus.
What are some of the challenges of working with C5’s clients in a mobile capacity? What solutions have you come up with to address these?
I found that when we did yoga between desks and chairs with people dressed in formal office attire, we would have to keep the movement very simple and stay very aware. The end result is the same, people feel great after they do yoga.
What do you see in the future for Chakra 5 and Corporate Wellness?
I see more and more people learning to be calm and relaxed through this unique structure of yoga and meditation being brought to them in the office or anywhere!
