Making Big, Mid-Life Changes
I was really inspired recently by this segment on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour. In this broadcast, the profile a number of women (and men) in “middle age” who decided to make dramatic career/lifestyle choices, sometimes for the worse, but most often, it seems, for the better.
I was particularly moved by the story of a woman who was so discouraged by a number of recent setbacks in her life, that she chose to live as a “gypsy”, in a caravan pulled by a horse. Some of you, dear readers, might laugh and think the idea is insane. However, I think the experiment took true courage and guts, and along the way she learned some things about her own strength and the goodness in humanity that inspired her to carry on.
